Most countries have introduced or are about to introduce new plant sanitary import requirements for wooden palls and other wood packaging material that is or has been used by all types of commodity shipments. This is because such materials can bring with it serious forest pests. The new requirements are largely in accordance with the guidelines given in the international standard ISPM 15 Entry requirements from country to country vary therefore less now than before.
